When talking to a client recently, she cited the hardest thing about meal preparation is trying to think of food as only fuel, not pleasure.  Hold the phone—what?? This made me very sad!  I was also struck with the realization that I have not been clear in my message to clients.  You absolutely can associate food with pleasure and still lose weight.  In fact, it is a necessity if we are to create a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable in the long term.  Here’s why:

  1. Eating food is one of the basic human pleasures—take that away and what do you have left? The Importance of Meal Prep

I wanted to share with you the importance of meal prep and how it has changed my family’s lives.  I cannot stress the importance of meal planning for not only weight loss but for creating a sustainable healthy lifestyle.  If you are a family with working parents and a busy calendar, meal planning and preparing food ahead of time is critical.  Not only do you save money by not eating out, you can feel good about what you are putting in your body.

Meal prepping is not hard, but it does require a time investment. Is ensuring the future health of yourself and family worth giving up a few hours on the weekend?
